Human Resources Manager, Sharel Grimm and Safety and Environmental Manager, Darren Marutt were on hand at the Work BC Job Fair held on April 11th at the Work BC Centre in Prince George. Hundreds of people attended the event to research new job opportunities and to speak one-on-one with prospective new employers.
Grimm states “Attending Job Fairs allows Pacific BioEnergy to meet prospective new employees and explain first-hand what we do, what we value and why we are an employer of choice. Posting a Job opportunity on a website is a good start but being able to interact with people provides an arena for an informal 2-way interview process to take place – we recognize that we are being interviewed as well”.
Marutt adds “Being able to meet people at a Job Fair like this gives us the opportunity to meet potential employees that would be a good fit for our Company. We’re looking for people who are team-oriented and have a passion for producing superior clean, green wood pellets which help improve the environment and make the world a better place. You can learn a lot about a person from reading their resume but the value in being able to meet them and engage in a conversation at a Job Fair like this is huge for us.”
